Taxonomy

Triepeolus obliteratus Graenicher, 1911: 242 [♀, ♂]

     Holotype ♀. USA, Wisconsin, Burnett County, mouth of the Yellow River, 28-31 July 1909, by S. Graenicher [Milwaukee Public Museum no. 29595].

The DNA Barcode Index Number (BIN) for this species is BOLD:AAJ8523.

 

Distribution in Canada

This species was tentatively recorded from Ontario by Woodcock et al. (2014), and from Quebec by Normandin et al. (2017). Though the species was not specifically stated, Rightmyer (2008) indicated that the Triepeolus simplex species group occurred in Saskatchewan, which is supported here.

 

Biology

Veit et al. (2022) reported this species as a nest parasite of Melissodes apicatus Lovell and Cockerell, 1906, an oligolege of Pickerweed recorded from Ontario and Quebec in Canada.
