Holotype ♂‚. USA, Texas, Fedor, 19 March 1904, by Birkmann [University of Nebraska].

Notes on Type Material: Stephen (1954) indicated that the holotype of C. rufithorax was from Fedor, Texas, possibly suggesting that it was one of 2♂‚ specimens collected by Rev. Birkmann on 19 April 1902 and 21 March 1904, or more likely, that he (Stephen 1954) confused this species with C. pulcher. The type material for C. pulcher recorded by Swenk (1906a) included 1♂‚ from Fedor, Texas, though Stephen (1954) recorded the type locality as Ocean City, New Jersey, consistent with 1♀ C. rufithorax in the syntype series for that species. There is no indication that Swenk (1906a) or Stephen (1954) designated type material among the 13 specimens indicated by Swenk (1906b).
