Biology

This bee has been recorded from nests of Megachile gentilis Cresson (Bechtel 1958). However, Baker (1975) questioned the identity as only males were reported. Baker (1975) mentioned three other possible hosts; M. sidalceae, M. brevis, and M. rotundata. As female specimens of C. novomexicana were reared from nests of M. rotundata.
