Taxonomy
*Andrena (Andrena) excellens Viereck, 1924: 76 [♀].
Holotype ♀. CANADA, British Columbia, Vancouver, 1 May 1921, by F.W.L. Sladen [CNC no. 663].
Taxonomic notes: The ♂ is unknown.
Viereck (1924: 76) suggested affinity to Andrena harveyi Viereck, 1904 [= Andrena rufosignata Cockerell, 1902].
Though Viereck (1924: 77) indicated a collection moth of May, the label on the holotype indictes April (i.e., 1:IV:21) (and see Sarazin 1986: 289).
