Andrena viereckella Gusenleitner and Schwarz, 2002: 163. New name for A. interrogationis Viereck and Cockerell, 1914. Synonymy by Gusenleitner and Schwarz (2002: 163).
Species Notes
Bouseman and LaBerge (1978) indicate that the holotype of A. carlini was in the PHT[imberlake] collection, suggesting that it was once at UCR. They also indicate that the holotype of Andrena carlini neorhodura is at NCSU.
This species has not yet been successfully DNA barcoded.
Distribution in Canada: Viereck et al. 1904 [BC]; Gibson 1917 [NS]; Judd 1966 [ON]; Bouseman and LaBerge 1979 [AB, MB, ON, QC, NB, NS]; Sheffield et al. 2003 [NS]; 2014 [AB, SK, MB]; Gibbs et al. 2023 [MB].
The record of this species from BC (Viereck et al. 1904) is suspected of being a misidentification; Bouseman and LaBerge (1979) recorded it as far west as Alberta.
